Installing Bitcoin Core on Ubuntu

This tutorial will show you how to install bitcoin core on Ubuntu.

** Add repository and install bitcoind **

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install software-properties-common python-software-properties -y

sudo apt-get install build-essential -y

sudo apt-get install libtool autotools-dev autoconf -y

sudo apt-get install libssl-dev -y

sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev -y

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install bitcoind -y

mkdir ~/.bitcoin/ && cd ~/.bitcoin/

sudo apt-get install nano

nano bitcoind.conf

** Add config to bitcoin.conf file **

rpcuser=ewallet
rpcpassword=9z84Cbz9MvYdJDsJ74c22ZCbNGUw8CkY
testnet=1
rpcport=8332
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=62.65.199.218

** Start bitcoind **

** Test bitcoind is running and working **
